Voice Lessons

Boston Singing Lessons

Arabella’s Voice Studio in Boston holds the belief that anyone can learn to sing in any style.

Often, singers come in wanting to “find their voice” The good news is, it’s already found. You are the only one that sounds like you, and that’s exciting. We’re just here to help shine the best light on it. You can think of voice lessons as a creative look into the why and how of what you already know how to do.

Singing lessons are focused on vocal technique to help you achieve technical and creative mastery. Singers are offered customized exercises to help with skills like increasing their vocal range and building vocal strength, so that they can feel more confident in a variety of vocal styles and in performance.

Learn foundational, sustainable technique that can be traced back to the classical world, while singing whatever genre you prefer. With lessons, students can excel in honing their own voice.

While AVS does not believe in a “one size fits all” approach, lessons are typically focused on warming up the voice and “tuning up technique,” so that singers can feel confident in everything from singing at their favorite karaoke bar to performing at their next release.

What can I expect in a voice lesson?

Singers typically split voice lessons into warm-ups, vocal techniques, and creative projects. The first portion of the lessons focuses on vocal technique to increase your range and build coordination to master your musical style. The rest of the lesson is focused on singing songs and pieces based on your goals as a singer. Voice lessons focus on a variety of techniques, so no matter what music you want to sing, you can learn a healthy technique to help you sing with greater ease and more presence.

Warm Ups

Warm Ups

A healthy voice typically takes no more than five to ten minutes maximum to warm up. With that said, it is a crucial part of the lesson, so that we can avoid vocal fatigue and injury.
Vocal Technique

Vocal Technique

No two students are the same and no two exercises are the same. Receive tailored made exercises to best help you improve as a singer. Timing varies, but typically students spend about twenty to thirty minutes on exercises.
Repertoire and Projects

Repertoire and Projects

For the remainder of the lesson, we apply what we’ve worked on in the first half. Students may elect to work on repertoire, production, music theory, or songwriting etc. Although it ranges, students usually spend about twenty to twenty-five minutes on their creative works.

Meet Amanda!

I’m a newer student at AVS and new to the Boston area! I work as a medical anthropology researcher, and in my free time I love getting outside to explore nature, staying in for a new video game, all things arts & crafts, and now building my musicianship abilities with Arabella.

10,000 stars! I joined Arabella's Voice Studio because I wanted to gain the skills and confidence to develop my singing voice. After only a few weeks with Arabella I've learned more than I ever expected about my own body and musical theory. She is always patient, helpful with her guidance, and supportive of trying new things to help you grow. I can't wait to keep learning!
